From
its inception, SIIT has grown considerably in size
(faculty-wise, administrative personnel-wise, and
student-wise) and reputation(nationally and internationally).The
student body has increased from 89 students in its
first year (1992) to over 1,400 students in 2000.
SIIT graduates work in a variety of organizations
ranging from government agencies to government enterprises
to private corporations. Several of them are pursuing
graduate degrees in engineering and business administrations
at well-known universities world-wide. Statistics

SIIT offers both undergraduate and
graduate (master's and doctoral) education in eight
areas:

Energy Technology (ET)
Environmental Technology (EV)
Information Technology (IT)
All courses are conducted in English
and taught by high caliber and experienced faculty
members, both full-time and part-time. A five-story
air-conditioned SIIT Building provides a stimulating
learning atmosphere and houses a well-equipped Computer
Center, Audio-visual Center, and SIIT's Library and
Information Services Center, in addition to classrooms
and offices. An adjacent five-story advanced laboratory
building allows SIIT students to carry out their state-of-the-art
senior projects under close supervision from faculty
members.

SIIT is located at the Rangsit Campus
of Thammasat University (in Pathum Thani), approximately
40 km north of Bangkok. The campus is on Phaholyotin
Road (northbound), just before the Asian Institute
of Technology (AIT). The campus can be conveniently
reached by car via a multi-lane divided super highway
(Paholyothin), the Jangwattana-Bangsai Expressway,
and both outer East-Ring and West-Ring Highways. On
the campus, there is a bus terminal for buses No.
4, 10, 29 and 39 (both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned).
The nearest train station, the Chiangrak Station,
is next to the Southwest corner of the Rangsit campus.

SIIT students have many opportunities
to participate in a variety of activities, both academic
and extra-curricular, to develop self discipline,
self responsibility, professional attitudes, and for
relaxation. The Student Committee and other student
clubs such as Sports Club, Academic Club, Volunteer
Club, Computer Club and Createc Club organize a wide
range of programs and activities throughout the year.
Additionally, individual academic programs have student
clubs which collaborate with faculty members in academic
related activities.
