Kansai College

Dept. of Japanese Studies
"Language opens our ways
to the future" -
with this theme, Kansai College is moving toward the
new century.
Kansai
College of Business and Languages is a vocational college
enforcement as well as the first licensed specialized
school of language study in Kansai Area. Since then,
we have tackled fields in language, business and international
education having produced thus far a number of outstanding,
highly skilled people to the world.
In April of 1989, in response to a strong request having
come from all directions, established Japanese language
courses that draws a line between a general Japanese
school, and also to the materialization of a higher
quality field of education to which we base our theme
on, usually receiving high valuations both domestic
and internationally that extends to this day.
In June of 1994, the Ministry of Education, Japan (taken
from the Ministry of Education Notice, chapter 84) decided
to award a Technical Associates Degree towards graduating
students of vocational colleges who meet the regular
conditions. The Ministry of Justice, Japan, also accepted
awarding of this degree, revised its statutes of the
Ministry of Justice and as of July, 1997, students possessing
a Technical Associates Degree, regardless of one's educational
or employment history were considered for jobs in Japan.
In
July of 1998, the Ministry of Education officially recognized
transferable credits between universities and vocational
colleges which had been a pending matter until then
and enforced the revision of the school's educational
laws and regulations which made possible for Technical
Associates admittance to universities, etc. This way,
vocational colleges were not a single one of Japan's
higher educational system and had also received a high
valuation from abroad, steadily coming to achieve growth
as an international education system. International
students studying at Kansai College of Business and
Languages are being granted with various privileges
in view of qualifications and systems, to provisions
of public scholarships, medical expense assistance and
grant support, public housing, etc., as regular students.
It can therefore be said that Kansai College is just
one of a handful of Japanese educational facilities
that is able to provide an outstanding learning environment
and broad possibilities after graduation.
