DePaul University - English Language Academy

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACADEMY

The region’s premiere English language program features intensive instruction and a diverse student population. Classes are small and are taught by experienced instructors who hold advanced degrees. The ELA prepares students for university study and professional advancement in the global world.

Students at the ELA receive lots of individual attention. Tutoring is available and students have full access to DePaul University facilities such as housing, fitness center, library, and computer labs.

DePaul University - English Language Academy - studentsOur campus is in the heart of Chicago. The “Loop” – as the area is known – is home to a broad range of educational and cultural institutions. A spectacular variety of entertainment and recreation is available. Nearby, you will find shopping, restaurants, beautiful parks, and a very active student scene.

ELECTIVES

The ELA offers a range of electives that vary by term. These include pronunciation, TOEFL paper-based preparation, as well as university experience electives designed for students with advanced English proficiency and conditional admission to university degree programs.

CONDITIONAL ADMISSION

All ELA students are eligible for conditional admission to most DePaul University undergraduate degree programs. Students must meet English proficiency standards prior to matriculation into degree programs.

Conditional admission to selected DePaul University graduate programs is also available. The ELA can assist students in understanding individual program requirements.
